This was the second year for the DV-MISSION 48 film challenge. 19 teams applied, 16 turned up at the start line. 16 teams finished. The genre was ‘Road Movie’, the title was ‘Dark Mesh’ and the one line of dialogue was ‘go on, I dare you, press the button!’ Awards were given out in the following categories:

Best Film Pro-Tech
Best Film Low-Tech
Best script / story
Most Cheesy One Liner
Best acto
Best actress
Best sound track
Best special effect
Best prop
Best costume
Most unusual location
Best use of low-tech equipment

When I organised the first DV-MISSION I was surprised at the professional level of the equipment used. For example DV cameras that cost in excess of £1000. For this reason I have made a specific category for Pro Tech and Low-Tech equipment. Pro Tech specs: DV cameras that cost in excess of £500. External sound recording equipment. Lighting that costs in excess of £100.
